Thursday I attended the taping of 'The Dish' - really fun show. Got to spend some time with Danielle Fishel - she played Topanga on the 90's show 'Boy Meets World'.
Friday was a relaxing day - didn't do much. That night Jenny and I went to my friend Josh's play "The Apple Tree". It's three different one acts - and comedic. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I really enjoyed it.
The play was in NoHo and we got there early. Needing some food we park and started to walk. Seemed like we were walking forever before we came across a decent place to eat. We finally arrived at Panera. This Panera was strange though because all the other Panera's I've been too you get little buzzers for when your meal is ready - not this one though. Random tidbit lol.
Saturday I went to the taping of the pilot episode of Versus Networks' 'After Further Review'. It is a comedic sports debate show. Two comedians take a side (in this case Yankee's vs. Red Sox). There is a panel of jury members (comedians also) and a crowd / audience. I was an audience member and was given the prop of a big foam #1 finger. We were asked to be rowdy and act like we were at a sporting event. Taping lasted quite a long time. Should be airing in the next few weeks.
Sunday is another relaxing day, before Monday comes.

The Soup
Wednesday night I went to the taping of The Soup. In the email invitation there was an unnamed 'Special Guest' who would be there. I had no idea who it was and was looking forward to going. I thought - watch its going to be Gary Busey...
Well it wasn't Gary - it was Kendra Wilkinson from the new E! show 'Kendra' ... oh and she was on that show 'The Girls Next Door' too.
Soup is always fun - I went a few months ago when I was down visiting. Joel is even funnier in person and has a great time with everyone. I'm sure I'll go to more tapings in the future.
It was a great day - very busy!

Six Flags
On Wednesday I went to Six Flags with Jenny and her roommate and friend.
Woke up at the same time as I did for work and headed to meet at Jenny's place to ride up to Six Flags in Valencia. She lives right by E! so it was the usual drive.
We got there around 11 and I couldn't wait to get on the rides. It was overcast and started to spritz some rain drops! Weird weather for LA. That didn't stop me from being excited - but I was also a little anxious about the rides - I've never been on a real intense roller coaster before.
Our tickets were half price too - which is great! Only $30.
The first ride we went on was an old wooden coaster - something easy I thought. Nope. The first drop on that bad boy really had my stomach in knots! I thought - wow if that was bad then what was I in for? The ride was intense and fun - but left me a little off center.
We went on the Scream - which had loops and the usual sort of things - but it was really simple and didn't make me scream at all - in fact it seemed alot less intense than that damn wooden coaster.
Our third ride was in my opinion, the worst. It was the Batman one and it threw me off and made me crazy dizzy.
The new Terminator ride had a long wait and it looked nothing like the ads on TV - it was a wooden coaster and I didn't quite get it. We didn't go on it - but oh well.
There were lots of other rides we went on and it was quite the adventure. For the last ride we were on X2. Its hard to explain exactly what is going on with the ride - im sure google has some pictures. Anyways, as your riding up to the top they play Metallica's Enter Sandman and then a countdown goes and all of a sudden you drop 90 degrees face down to the ground and then go backwards and do loops - some pyrotechnic flames go off and all sorts of mayhem. I enjoyed the ride - but before going on it I was thinking I wouldn't. It was a great ending ride for the day. We left and had to head back to downtown so we could go to the taping of 'The Soup'

First few days
Well I woke up early Monday morning to take my sister to the airport. It was overcast and drizzling - something I thought I would see in Seattle but now here. And all the while the weather in Seattle was in the 80's - go figure!
After dropping her off and driving back to my apartment - I got really homesick, but I didn't have time to think as I needed to get ready for work and get on the road.
Traffic wasn't too bad - takes about 30 or so minutes to get to E! I don't take the freeways as it's probably slower taking them.
I got to the offices a half hour early and waited in the reception area until the Intern Coordinator came in to welcome everyone. It was a nice wait because I got to watch the E! shows on all the TV's on the wall. haha.
After filling out some paperwork and getting pictures taken for security badges, some other interns and I talked about where we were from and departments we were interning at. They were all nice - but I probably wont see them again since we're all in different departments - but maybe around the offices - I forget all their names though.
My supervisor Martha came down to reception and got me and showed me my desk. It has everything you'd expect - but also has a TV. I dont know where the remote is though - so I don't watch it.
The first day I did little projects and also some training. Not too heavy - I didn't pack a lunch and didn't really know where to eat so I just had a vending machine lunch. Not too glamorous but it worked.
Before I knew it the day was over and I was headed home. Traffic was a little worse going home - but I was also exhausted and ready to be home - which made it seem longer. I was going to stop by the grocery store - but I didn't have much time and really just wanted to go home. So I did. But once I got to my apartment I realized all I had to eat was granola bars. great. oh well.
I watched some tv shows and was asleep by 10 - which is not normal for me. 10? c'mon I was hoping to watch the new Tonight Show with Conan - dang.
Woke up early the next morning - no breakfast since no food - and headed off to work. I made it about 30 minutes early again so I stopped by Ralphs grocery (basically Safeway - but they don't have Safeway here) I got a sandwich for lunch and some fruit roll ups haha. I felt like I was in elementary school again with a sack lunch for a field trip.
Being my second day I didn't do too much - just some small projects again. I also got to watch some upcoming shows and make sure there wasn't any major errors. I really enjoyed the shows - one was a special on the behind the scenes look of the new movie "Planet of the Lost".
I met Jenny for lunch ( a fellow WSU student and intern at E!) we ate on the deck and then went for a walk around the La Brea Tar Pits. The Tar Pits are right across from the building and are naturally occuring tar seeping up from the ground? its very strang and interesting.
After lunch it was back to work - and then the day was over.
I decided that I really needed to go the grocery store. Traffic was bad and it took a while to get to the grocery store. I didn't feel like cooking so I ate 'In-n-Out' for dinner - its really good and cheap. I still didn't buy much at the grocery store - just the neccesities - donuts, bread, cheese, turkey and gatorade. I'll need to make another stop soon ...
From the time I left work to the time I got home after the grocery store and pit stop for food - it was two hours. I made it home just in time to watch some reality shows and then off to bed for me - busy day the next day ... I was going to six flags!

Drive Down
Ok so I should have updated this sooner - but I've been pretty busy. Here's the details on the drive down.
My sister and I left last Friday morning on our journey to LA. The night before I didn't get much sleep and kept thinking I was forgetting things...but by the time the morning came I loaded up the car with my clothes and shoes (all that I was taking with) and we were on our way.
Traffic wasn't bad leaving Seattle, but Portland was a little crowded around the time we went through (noon). Their freeways were interesting and tangled looking - but had great views of the city and water etc ...
Shortly outside of Portland there was this building on the right hand side that stated the business was called "Jiggles Dancers" ... interesting name for a strip club I thought... odd...
Not much happened between Portland and Eugene, the town we made a stop at. Gassed up the car and got some snacks. I didn't know what to do when I pulled into the gas station - do I get the gas or does the attendant fill up the tank. Right when I was going to get out of the car he started pumping the gas - made it easy for me.
The trek from Eugene to the state line of California was the same - not much happening. Once we hit northern California the tree's and landscaped started to look different - we had been drivign all day but it didn't feel like it so it seemed like we would be in WA still. My time orientation is off I think.
There were a million little fly/gnat bugs that were hitting the windshield so fast that we weren't sure if it was raining or bugs ... I put my hand out the window and it felt like raindrops but my hand wasn't wet ... yep it was bugs. sort of gross. After a while the windshield was so bad that we had to pull over at a gas station to clean the windshield - everyone else had the same idea. Not one person was filling up with gas but all were cleaning windshields.
We mad it to Sacramento the first night - it was a nice hotel - I took the soap so I had some when I got to my apartment.
We left the next morning at 10 and were on our way to LA. It was a long stretch of road and again - not much of anything. Just cows along the road - reminded me of the commercial about California cows and cheese.
We arrived into LA around 4. I didn't want to stay in downtown LA so we stayed in Burbank. Not sure what hotel to stay at we decided that the Marriott looked the cleanest and safest - little did we know it was pretty expensive - but we stayed anyways.
I couldn't check into my apartment until the next day (Sunday) at 3:30 - and check out for the hotel was 12 ... so we had lots of free time. Since all of the things I had were in my car - I didn't want to leave them unattended. Once we checked out we decided to just drive around for a few hours and see the sights.
Drove around Beverly Hills looking for famous houses - but they're all hidden away. We got back to my apartment complex in time to check in. We didn't know what to do for dinner so we went to the same place we had ate at the night before in Burbank. Oh did I mention my apartment is in Burbank - it's right by Universal Studios and Warner Bros.
Tired from our trip we went to bed early as I had to drop my sister off at Airport the next morning and get ready for my first day ...
